Kratom Opiate Addiction Treatment

What is Kratom?
Kratom originates from the SouthAsian region, it was foremost documented by Pieter Willem Korthals, a Dutch colonial botanist. It was discovered in the 19th century, but its actual existence and usage dates back much more. Many locals used it for many things before it was discovered and known to the rest of the world.

Kratom and its extractives is derived from the deciduous tree species known as Mitragyna Speciosa. It tree grows in the tropical climate and belongs to the coffee plant(Rubiaceae). The leaves of the plant contain many chemicals that are medicinal. And this has aroused the interest of scientists, researchers and botanists across the world.
Kratom leaves are discovered to comprise of over 40 alkaloid chemicals that are its major constituents. It is one of the natural, non-poppy discovery sources of opiates in the world, it is so effective to the extent that its chemicals work through the body and the brain to relieve and ease people from pain.
Mitragynine is a primary alkaloid chemical that is present in Kratom, it binds to two types of opioid receptors in the brain. The properties of other kratom chemicals are not known, mitragynine is believed to have a lower affinity for the opioid receptors than other drugs such as morphine. This means that it is of a less potent opioid than morphine and other opioid painkillers. kratom has been used in Southeast Asia as a painkiller and as treatments for arthritis, restless legs, and a range of other illnesses. People in Asia usually chew kratom leaves on their way to and fro. The foremost user of kratom were labour workers, such as farmers and field workers. They get to see that they are more energetic on their work and are motivated to work longer hours. It is widely available in America in the form of capsule, powder, tea and extract. It is very effective in treating pain, high blood pressure, depression, diarrhoea, and cough.
The evergreen tree Mitragyna speciosa, can grow to a height of 25 meters tall and the trunk may grow to a 0.9 m (3 ft.) diameter. Generally, the trunk is straight with a smooth and grey outer bark. The leaves are dark green and glossy and can sometimes grow to over 14–20 cm (5.5–7.9 in) long and 7–12 cm (2.8–4.7 in) wide when open fully, they are ovate-acuminate in shape, and are opposite in growth pattern, with 12–17 pairs of veins. The flowers grow in clusters of three at the ends of each branches. The calyx-tube is 2 mm (0.079 in) long and comprises of 5 lobes; the corolla-tube measures 2.5–3 millimetres (0.098–0.118 in) long.

Kratom opiate Addiction Treatment
This ever green tree native to Southeast Asia is not an opiate. It imitates the effects of opioid drugs such as heroin, morphine, hydrocodone and so on. Kratom contains a lot of active components called alkaloids and of which Mitragynine is assumed to be liable for the majority of its effects. Mitragynine is an opioid agonist that's it has an attraction for the opioid receptors in the brain. These receptors determine and directs one's humour and nervous feelings. Mitragynine remediate your humour by restraining these receptors and endue gleeful-like emotions like one feels in the case of opiates.
Kratom has powerful painkilling and sedative qualities which makes it in high demand and desired for opiate withdrawal. All strains of kratom works for opiate withdrawal. They have the capacity to alleviate symptoms to a greater degree. Being physiologically hooked on opiates can be very awful. Being afraid of withdrawal can make you to be overly conceited for years.
Many people who use kratom for opiate withdrawal witness tremendous results, in fact, using kratom for opiate withdrawal has been in existence for centuries. People suffering from severe opiate addictions have adhered to this natural herbal remedy for relief. Grown in the wild, kratom has been used as cure for various kind of serious ailments for many years. Recently, researchers have confirmed that the plant’s potent natural alkaloids can soothe the most intense symptoms. This makes Kratom one of the best treatments for drug withdrawal side effects. This is a news beyond belief for the millions who battle with opiate addiction all over the world.

Opiate withdrawal symptoms kratom may help relieve
Some of the opiate withdrawal symptoms Kratom may help relieve are;

  • Opiate cravings
  • Muscle and body aches
  • Restless leg syndrome (RLS)
  • Fever and sweats
  • Poor mood and attitude
  • Low energy and lethargy

How Kratom Helps with Opiate Withdrawals
Before we can understand how Kratom brings about repose with opiate withdrawals, we must understand how opiate generates a reliance in a person's body to begin with. Cell receptors bond with opiate agonists and then stimulate the sympathetic nervous system. When this stimulation occurs endorphin production increases which causes the feeling of being high. However, it also leads to a dynamic that is very dangerous. The body becomes accustomed to functioning while being high, but the level of endorphin production is hard for the body to maintain at a constant rate. This makes the receptors to demand more opiate use. Without giving the receptors more opiates the entire nervous system crashes. Because the subjective experience that the user has undergone is so intense that they will grow to desire more opiates just to get rid of the intense and hurtful feelings. This is the birth of addiction.
Kratom is not an opiate. The alkaloids that naturally occur in Kratom converse with the body's opioid receptors. However, they do not form any kind of long term enslavement. Kratom instead relieves any needy receptors by way of natural stimulation until the receptors are brought back to a more balanced and safe state.
According to the research conducted by Christopher R. McCurdy and his colleagues, they set aside Kratom’s superabundant alkaloid, mitragynine, and tested the pure compound. They found out that carefully created variations may produce a means to methadone in treating addictions to opiates, according to the Medical Xpress report.
“Mitragynine completely stopped all withdrawal symptoms and could provide an unbelievable step-down-like treatment for people addicted to hardcore narcotics such as hydrocodone oxycodone or heroin,” according to McCurdy. “The compound has been in existence for years but we will soon come up with a refined synthetic analog or a more preferable innovation of the tea for testing in humans.”
In the words of McCurdy, he said Dr. Edward W. Boyer, an opium treatment specialist and a professor of emergency medicine and director of medical toxicology at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, has been instrumental in collecting the information they needed in the administering of the dosages and frequencies of Kratom use for their animal studies.
A sample of a patient that has been using Kratom four times per day for more than three years was analysed by the clinicians. Arriving with seizures at the University of Colorado emergency room. They found that the seizures were as a result of Modafilni been administered with Kratom and not just due to the use of Kratom.
“We have been able to establish the effects of kratom from those of other drugs whose presence was uncalled for,” Dr. Boyer said. “This has allowed us to arrive at the conclusion that some pharmaceutical agents cannot be trusted. Some substances are believed to have been added to kratom and are been sold to people.
According to the U.S. DEA, kratom has been termed as a “drug of concern” because of it is vulnerable to being abused. But for the many millions of Americans, Kratom has been a great help for them in the management of chronic pains and deal with opioid withdrawal. McCurdy added that they still have a long way ahead of them and that their research team is highly motivated to see to the completion of the preclinical studies needed to allow them to begin human studies,”

Effects of consuming kratom

The effects of consuming kratom orally or chewed in leaf formulation have been seen as less intense and similar to the feeling of opioids. This has made some people to term it Natures Painkiller. Kratom. It is believed to be stimulating at lower doses and more sedating at higher doses. Many agree it’s far less powerful and much less addictive than other prescription painkillers.
The best way to use kratom is to use it only when it is necessary, when it becomes a must to get you through your worst opiate withdrawals, without relapsing even when hurt the most. Use it only as a treatment to help you manage your most acute heroin, opiate withdrawal pain and the likes.
